PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (USA)
The Vocational Scholarship Fund is supported by voluntary contributions from Presbyterian Women in the local congregations and from individuals. Scholarships shall be awarded, subject to review by the Scholarship Committee.
1. The applicant must be a member of a Presbyterian Church(USA)[PC(USA)] congregation in the Central Florida Presbytery, under the care of Central Florida Presbytery Committee on Preparation for Ministry, and enrolled in a PC(USA) Seminary or Presbyterian School of Christian Education (PSCE)
2. Upon satisfying the above requirement, the applicant will request scholarship funds through the Interpreter for Presbyterian Homes and Schools, Presbyterian Women of Central Florida Presbytery (PWCFP), who shall be responsible for convening the Scholarship. The Scholarship Committee shall be composed of:
a. The Interpreter for Presbyterian Homes and Schools (convener)
b. Treasurer of Presbyterian Women of Central Florida Presbytery
c. Two members-‐at-‐large appointed by the Moderator PWCFP.
d. Chairperson of Committee on Preparation for Ministry, Central Florida Presbytery or their designee.
3. The Scholarship Committee shall make inquiries of the applicant in the following areas
of concern: commitment, academic background and financial need.
4. Upon receipt of scholarship grant, each applicant shall:
a. Provide an update to the Interpreter for Presbyterian Homes and Schools, PWCFP in April. This would include description of progress and other comments about the year.
b. Show evidence of continued sincerity of purpose in report mentioned in Section A above. Maintain at least a “B” (3.0) average
c. Maintain at least a “B” (3.0) average
d. Submit a copy of transcript.
5. In order to be considered, all application materials must be received by the Interpreter for Presbyterian Homes and Schools no later than June 30 or November 1, depending upon when seeking scholarship..
